Created in the autumn of 2018, Standpoint is a photo project that focuses on understanding individual perspectives on different gender-related topics by combining interviews with portraits.

Originally, the project featured anonymous portraits of the interviewed, but as it progressed, this changed. The current version of the project features studio pictures that aim to objectify the human body and detach it from the human being behind it.

The interviews were included not only to help depict but also to understand the experiences of people from different backgrounds regarding multiple topics surrounding gender issues, such as sexism, misogyny, gender identity, and toxic masculinity.  From the interview, short quotes were selected to be paired up with the portraits.

The pictures exhibited here are part of the project called Standpoint, by Lais Glaser in collaboration with Jasmin Gams. The entire project is available on Instagram @standpoint.project
