See the Silence, Hear the Invisible

Welcome to iWeek 2020! It’s the 13th annual Art, Media, and Music International Week, and first-ever online event!

TAMK Art, Media and Music International week is TAMK’s annual event highlighting art, media, and music by our students, from various paths and degrees at TAMK. Every year in the spring we have a week of exhibitions, workshops, performances, panels, concerts and more.

This year we decided to tackle our first ever online iWeek due to the global situation. Our students have been working from home, and now their work will be showcased for all to see. We will have a few online workshops and panels by teachers and guest lecturers, as well as our traditional video and songwriting pitches.

Workshops and private panels: Enroll here!

It is also an important networking and cooperating meeting with our partners and colleagues from universities around the world. This year we have students from OCADU and UAEMéx participating in online performances and INTAC professors and students will have a panel after their virtual gallery to discuss online collaboration.

Join us April 20th to 24th and SEE art, WATCH films, and LISTEN to music! Make sure to tag us @iWeekTAMK in your posts and tweets! #iWeekTAMK

Due to the current measures set by the government and Tampere University, all educational establishments are closing until the 13th of April.

We are following the decisions by the government and the university, and ultimately we have decided that iWeek 2020 will not be a physical event.

Instead, we are having our first ever online Media, Music and Art International Week!

Welcome to the 13th International Week of Art, Media, and Music! The event will be from the 20th to the 24th of April 2020!

We will keep you updated as we traverse this new area of online events.

A message from Sohvi:

Universities in Europe and around the world are closed, campuses are silent. TAMK has canceled or postponed all the International Weeks. The coronavirus has changed our everyday life totally for a period of time and nobody can say for how long.

Some time ago we decided on the theme for our International Week: “See the Silence, Hear the Invisible”. Back then we couldn’t imagine how topical issues that will be. We have been working with distance teaching and learning platforms. We shall avoid all unnecessary face-to-face meetings.

Here in Mediapolis Campus, we feel it is now even more important to organize our annual international event. It is necessary to work together, to cooperate, to help each other to work and learn in exceptional circumstances. We will now have

The 1st Online Media, Music and Art International Week in TAMK!

We will turn this problematic situation to an educational experience, explore the online possibilities, distance learning & teaching methods, the possibilities for streaming the concerts and documenting the exhibitions.

We invite colleagues, friends, and partners to join our International Week online!
